I have spent over 20k on keys trying chest running in FoW and haven't made up half of it in weapons from chests. It's not worth the time nor the money.

I did chest running for a couple weeks and got some excellent items. I found it takes about 20k~30k before you get a 100k item. Well that was a few months back before the economy started sucking. Now I have found more profitable ways to make money.

The pics attached are drops I got about a month back. The wingblade sold for 75k~100k if I remember correctly. I had a req9 unid chaos axe that sold for 37k on the Guru auctions. The req 8 wouldnt sell for some reason, so I ID'd it and it was +15%(in stance). So I sold it for a quick 30k and was done with it.

For some reason I never get anything worth anything in Chest runs. I spent about 30K on keys and I never got anything worth it or even half of what I have spent. I rather go farming FoW or UW. I paid for UW and FoW for my whole team and in both games I found a Shard in FoW and Ecto in UW well worth that 1K I paid for entrance.

Fow chest runs are the most profitable way to earn gold these days, as long as you have plenty of gold for the keys.

It's not too difficult, just stick with the group and don't talk to the ghost!
Bring 3-4 Obsidian Keys, maybe more just in case. Remember to stick to the wall when you first enter FoW, that way you don't aggro mobs nearby and get the ghost killed.

Build-wise I usually have:

W/Mo

Sprint (duh)
Charge (not entirely necessary as others will have it too, you can replace it with another elite you think will work)
Endure Pain (for emergencies)
Blank (try Shield's Up, or perhaps a stance)
Healing Signet (duh)
Smite Hex (you'll need it)
Mend Ailment (comes in handy)
Rebirth (absolutely necessary)

I use a build a lot like the above, where the blank spot is Balanced Stance. One swipe from a troll (or whatever they are) and you are down on the ground. Then they swarm you and your dead.

Chest farming rocks, I found 1 perfect chaos axe and fellblade together worth over 500k for only 40k spent. It takes a lot of keys and it is down to luck, but keep going and you will find that rare your looking for

HoD helm helps too.

Sprint, Charge, Shields Up, Endure Pain, Rebirth, Purge conditions, Heal Sig, Healing Breeze

Chest running is the rush i look for after a grinding farm...
Dont knock it until you try it....
